Located in Burnaby, BC in our purpose-built modern facility, we continue to solve problems and provide premium products to our customers all over the world with our global reach for sales, service and repair of power distribution, medium and high voltage motors, and generators.

 

We are currently looking for a Shop Helper to join our team. 

 

What you will be doing:

The Shop Helper is an entry level position, however, can lead to advancement and growth for the right person, with ambition and drive to move forward with their career.

 

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Wash and clean parts
  • Organize the warehouse
  • Write up incoming jobs
  • Prepare outgoing shipments for transport
  • Assist Tradespersons with duties, as required
  • Safely operate a forklift, both inside and outside the shop
  • Drive company vehicle to and from suppliers and/or customers, as required
  • Put away electric motors, including moving, packaging and organizing within shop
  • General housekeeping of the service shop and the warehouse
  • Refrain from horseplay or unsafe behaviours while at work
  • Other duties, as required

What we need from you:

  • Forklift certification
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Ability to multitask and manage tasks, based on time requirements
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset

 

Work Conditions:

  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Overtime hours, as required.
  • Hazards associated with the trade.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to remain standing, crouching or bending for long periods of time.
