Summary

The Outside Sales Representative/Account Representative is responsible for new customer development, existing customer support and technical support. The position works closely with other departments to provide excellent customer service, prevent potential issues, and monitor ongoing projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Build sales volume by fostering positive relationships in the industry by representing the Company on areas, including, but not limited to product sales, production and repair, and field service.
  • Work with management to set out yearly goals and call consistency.  Communicate promptly if that need changes.
  • Plan sales work on long-term basis through building successful relationships and proactive thinking.
  • Actively sell products and services using specific well thought out presentations to customers, potential and/or existing.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of sales calls by bringing a supply of advertising and promotional materials.
  • Be prepared for each call by staying current on the status of the customer’s shop work, outstanding quotes, and orders in the Work in Progress. 
  • Connect with potential or existing customers in a timely manner to drive sales volume.
  • Ensure all Customer Accounts are up to date with the latest key contact information, addresses, numbers, etc.
  • Maintain and update account plans to ensure that customer needs are met and areas for potential sales are evaluated.
  • Promptly report, investigate, and resolve customer complaints with management to ensure that concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Attend tradeshows and customer events as necessary.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of each service, product and application and use this knowledge to obtain sales.
  • Continue to advance product and technical knowledge through available resources and approved training.
  • Attend all assigned meetings and participate actively
  • Gain a working knowledge of competing companies and products and include this information on sales reports.
  • Learn as much as possible about every customer, including specialties, needs, personnel, organization structure and financial strength etc. to best fill their needs.
  • Analyze sales results against targets and potential and adjust activities accordingly.
  • Provide necessary reports and/or metrics to management.
  • Assist in product development and growth based on customer needs, as needed.
  • Deliver quotes and materials in a professional and timely manner when required.
  • Assist other departments with service-related communications and/or issues.
  • Attend industry functions and make the most of networking opportunities.
  • Other duties, as required.

What we need from you:

  • Minimum 5 Years Sales Experience, with proven track record
  • Sales Industry experience and/or a comprehensive knowledge of electric motors and motor repair services in the industrial market segment
  • Proven track record for personal growth
  • Technical Background.  Ideally, candidate would have post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Diploma, or Trade (motor winding preferred) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Strong customer service skills, ability to build and maintain relationships and prospect new accounts
  • High regard for EHS and integrity
  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
  • Class 5 BC Drivers License
